Redefining History: The Marathon Where Women Lead the Way

Every Woman's Marathon Startline

This weekend was incredible! I met over 7,000 strong, inspiring women at the first-ever U.S. marathon designed by and for women: Every Woman’s Marathon in Savannah, GA.

On my flight to Savannah, I chatted with a woman who has run 40 marathons! 🏃🏼‍♀️ Yet, she was especially excited about this one. She shared that so many races are dominated by men and can feel intimidating. She was also there to cheer on her friend, who, after battling cancer and raising two kids, was making her marathon comeback. 🥹

I even had a brief, memorable conversation with Katherine Switzer, the first woman to run the Boston Marathon with an official race number! 💪🏽 She told me she loved the rainbow of colors in the event’s design, calling it inclusive and joyful 🧡🩵💚💙💜💛—a refreshing change for the running world.

We spoke to so many more incredible women during this short trip. It was truly a celebration of strength, resilience, and sisterhood. Congratulations to every woman who finished 26.2 miles, especially the 43% first-time marathon runners, including our teammate and friend Yu Rong!

It was an honor for Yung Studio to create the brand design system that represents the inclusivity and energy of the race, thanks to the trust of MilkPEP and Gale. 🙏🏽🥰
